June 07 , 2011 - (Nashville, TN) - Today is the highly-anticipated release of Tricia Brock's first solo effort, The Road (Inpop Records). Brock, who also fronts the GRAMMY-nominated rock band Superchick, is beyond thrilled to release this compilation of worshipful songs that God has been calling her to for quite some time.

Taking a departure from her well-known rock sound, Brock's The Road steers the listener down a worshipful path with a collection of songs desiring to breathe hope and strength, to inspire new life into battling hearts. The project was produced by Brock's husband Nick Baumhardt (Stellar Kart, FM Static, Thousand Foot Krutch).

In preparation for street week, outlets such as JesusFreakHideout.com, CCM, Beliefnet, Crosswalk.com, HearItFirst.com, Gospel Music Channel, NewReleaseTuesday.com, and ChristianityToday.com have shown their support.

Fans can also check out the feature in the June issue of CCM Magazine here. Upcoming features are also going to be featured in Rhapsody, Youthwalk and more.

What are the critics saying about the new release?

"The beautiful melodies, immediate hooks and resonant lyrics pervading Brock's solo debut, The Road, is a dynamite release and this large bandwagon is intended for far more than Superchick fans already in-house." - CCM Magazine, 4 Star Review

"The Road is paved with nothing but clarity of vocals, affecting lyrics and the best of modern worship. Superchick fans will love this release, as will others who enjoy solid worship music. The delicate, measured side of Brock is every bit as interesting as the rock portion. Let’s hope this isn’t the last time Brock veers down the solo road." - Crosswalk

"The Road is an excellent release and great worship album for all Superchick fans." -CMADDICT

"Tricia Brock’s The Road project is a fabulous worship project and definitely one of the best worship projects of the year!" -Jay's Musik Blog

"The Road by Tricia Brock is my top inspirational worship album of the year! This is the most moving album I’ve heard this year.” - New Release Tuesday

"('You Are My Shepherd') Good rendition of Psalm 23. Very pleasant voice, easy to listen to. I enjoyed hearing this and look forward to more songs in the future from this artist." - Debra Lammime, iTunes fan comment

ABOUT TRICIA BROCK
Raised in a Christian home, Tricia and her sister Melissa experienced their share of adversity and struggles while trying to nourish the testament of their faith throughout their teenage years. After meeting Max Hsu (Superchick, Church Of Rhythm) at a concert in 1997, the three shared their desires to work with and inspire young girls struggling with the same feelings of depression and insecurities that they shared. This dream was brought into fruition and Superchick was formed. Six albums, twelve years and a GRAMMY nomination later, Tricia – an ordinary person made well-known by her faithful use of a God-given gift for music – has become a role model to hundreds of thousands of teenagers. She has always had a heart for giving back and a voice for a number of charities and non-profit organizations, including Compassion International, Habitat For Humanity, and Make A Wish Foundation.

Superchick is currently in the studio recording for their next project and on tour throughout this summer and fall.
